Susan first came to Bute in 2015 and with her partner enjoys all the island has to offer. By taking part in the open studio trail she hopes to share and inspire others with her love of hats and welcomes you to see what she creates for men and women in designs for weddings, race events and garden parties.

Susan studied millinery at Cardonald College Glasgow and attained SCQF level 7 and 8 qualifications and the student scholarship prize and a lifetime membership from the Incorporation of Bonnetmakers and Dyers of Glasgow in 2022. She bravely entered a design named "Emboldened", a gender neutral beret to The Worshipful Company of Feltmakers London and was delighted when the hat reached final judging stage of the Felt Makers Design Awards at Haberdashers Hall London, in 2023.
