I have had an almost life-long interest in ceramics that began whilst a pupil at my secondary school in Worthing, Sussex. After leaving school I trained as a nurse but continued with pottery at evening classes on and off for many years.

On my retirement I had the time and opportunity to apply for a degree course in ceramics at Falmouth School of Arts in Cornwall. I was lucky enough to be accepted and gained my degree in 2000. After graduating I bought my own kiln and was able to do much more in the way of experimental work.

All my work is hand-built. I use coloured slips to enhance the forms and the pieces are often fired several times with further slip added after each firing.
