I work mostly in ink and graphite, focusing on draftsmanship and embracing the constraints of monochromatic images. Drawing is fundamental to how I think and work, and this extends into my etching practice and regular printmaking at the Glasgow Print Studio.
My route into art was somewhat roundabout: after completing an MA in philosophy, I spent many years travelling the world and working as a graphic designer. It was after settling on the Isle of Bute that I could slow down and focus on my personal practice, while still taking an occasional book cover commission. Curiosity and a love of learning continue to shape what I do.
My work is shown at GPS Gallery in Glasgow and is also available online via Hypha Curates.
