I work with mixed media , depending on the subject . I am a retired RGN and after several decades of working on the wards around the UK, rediscovered my love of painting , not having had the “me” time until retiral....just love it.
My impressionistic, acrylic landscapes are mostly of Bute, the scenic beauty and the ever changing light a joy to capture. Such an inspiring island.
“The way we were” watercolour range was initially inspired from old photographs and old family tales of village life in Kilchattan Bay...these are now in card and print form with an occasional original appearing!
My mixed media cards of highland dancing children was again inspired by the amazing wealth of dancing talent we have on Bute...I have tried to capture the fun and determination to succeed in these youngsters!
Original art, prints and cards plus my acrylic Bute Minis, on plywood, ready to be hung unframed or framed, will be on show at the 2019 Trail. Look forward to seeing you.
