After a career in computer software, Gordon returned to Bute in 1993 and retrained in heritage woodwork, woodland skills and boat master qualifications.

He has a strong interest in Celtic history, particularly folk lore, and now produces a range of artefacts (crooks, knives, sign dubs, etc) from locally sourced antler, horn and indigenous woods. Gordon works from Wood Watch heritage, The Woodlanders and Standing Stone Crafts.
