Gianna Milani

Painting and Drawing

I have loved being able to get back into painting and sketching more full time since moving to the Isle of Bute about four years ago. I am inspired by the stunning scenery (light, colours, details and textures) around me and aim to capture some of that ‘beautiful’ in my paintings.

I have previously worked in oils but acrylic is currently my main medium. I have painted a range of subjects over the years, but my more recent work includes seascapes, landscapes and occasionally anything beautiful that grabs my attention. A new venture is painting local townscapes as well.

I love to show the wonder of light in my artworks and also enjoy adding splashes of colour. I use paintbrushes and painting knives and predominantly work on hardboard which enables me to add more texture in my paintings.

Some of my paintings can be seen at the Castle Gallery in Rothesay or on the other online platforms. I am more than happy to take on a commission of a special view or place that has significance or happy memories for you. Please feel free to get in touch if that is something that interests you.
